History | where it started

Jim and Trish Lontos began their journey in 1979 as bedding and furniture retailers. The experience they gained provided a unique insight into the intricacies and consumer demands in the furniture and bedding industry.

In 1989, they decided to venture into the manufacturing industry,
focusing on timber bed bases and established Lontos Fabrications.

With humble beginnings as a small factory in Thomastown with a team of four, they delivered their first three timber bed bases – all safely mounted on the roof of the family car!

Today, the company has grown to a team of 40 and has since included many top national bedding wholesalers among their clientele.  Lontos provide a core product range from timber bed bases to much more, that continually expands and adapts to the growing and changing needs of the bedding industry.
